Mississippi University for Women

On Saturday my brother and his girlfriend came to visit us. She’s taking a photography class and needed to photograph some old buildings. I thought taking her to MUW would be the perfect place. It has a special place in my heart so I love finding an excuse to walk around on campus. Here are a few photos I snapped myself of our tour.

Orr Chapel

The door to Orr Chapel. Orr Chapel was damaged in a tornado and has yet to be renovated. I did however sneak inside once and it’s absolutely beautiful.

If I had a porch with all these windows, I’d be in heaven.

Callaway clock tower. This was my dorm Freshman and Sophomore year and I loved it. It’s the one of the most beautiful buildings on campus I think.

The guys’ dorm. I spent a lot of time here with my honey.

My dorm for my Junior and 1st Senior year. (I had two Senior years. That’s what you get for being a double-major, double-minor.)

My husband’s design work on display.

We are the Magnolia State after all.

This is a fountain right outside the admissions building. I’ve dipped my toes in it a time or two. One thing about the “W “that you should know, playing in the fountains is sort of a tradition.

I spent a lot of time in this building. I had the most wonderful teachers who made me excited about every course I took. I guess that’s why I wanted to major and minor in all of them.

I love my alma mater. Walking around campus again just brought back so many wonderful memories. I grew up at MUW. I met my husband there. I made friends that I will have in my life forever. It’s always going to hold a special place in my heart.
