I think this is the first time I’ve actually worn this sweater. I’ve had it about two years. I never really knew how to style it, but I grabbed it the other day and threw a belt around it a voila, new favorite outfit. I love the neutral tones of this ensemble. Sometimes I like being matchy, and this outfit is a pretty good example of that. Plus, I love finding excuses to wear this scarf. It’s one of my favorites. Thanks Josh!

I wore this outfit last Saturday when Nick and I were out trying to find good deals at a yard sale. I read about it on Facebook so I figured it would be worth a shot. We are still hunting used furniture to re-purpose for our bedroom and other areas of the house. They didn’t have much to offer, but the old couple that was hosting the yard sale were very friendly. We told them we were looking for matching end tables for our bedroom and although they didn’t have what we were looking for, they gave us their son’s number who buys and distresses furniture as a side project. They also told us about a weekly auction held every Saturday night at the fair grounds. Apparently furniture goes for mere dollars at this auction and several thrift/antique store owners around town go to the auction to find merchandise for their stores.

Nick and I decided to check out the auction later that night. I’ve never been to an auction before. It was a lot different than what I expected, but nonetheless entertaining. This was an anything goes auction. People were selling furniture, food, appliances, knick knacks, anything and everything. One guy came in with a truck full of food. It was especially hard to pass up the bottles of Hershey syrup and bags full of Snickers, but we managed to be strong. This same gentleman started selling grab bags for $3. Each bag had a number on it and the numbers were drawn for prizes. The guy laid a $20 and a $10 bill on the auction table as a prize, along with a snugee, some hedge clippers and a race car blanket. It was the most bazaar thing I’ve ever seen, and even though we left there smelling like a deep fried cigarette butt, we had a blast. We plan to continue going to the auctions for the furniture and the entertainment.

I’m going in to have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted today so I’ll probably be mia for at least a few days while I recover. I realize it’s a rather routine procedure, but I’ve never had any kind of major or minor surgery, and quite frankly the thought of being put to sleep and having no idea what is going on terrifies me.

If you are the praying kind, please send a few prayers my way. If not, then just send good vibes. I’m sure I’ll be fine, but prayers are always appreciated. I plan to spend my recovery eating (or sipping) lots of vegetable stock, chocolate pudding and possibly a sweetheart shake from Sonic. The possibilities are endless.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend.
