I sincerely apologize for my absence over the past week. I never intended to take a week off from blogging but it just kind of happened. The weather here lately has been miserable. Rainy and muggy, and now it’s rainy and cold. I don’t have an umbrella so I haven’t been brave enough to venture out into the weather to take outfit photos. We also have very little natural light in our house and with the sky being overcast and dark for the past week or so, it’s impossible to get any good pictures of anything. All in all it’s made me feel very dreary. I’ve been using my break wisely though, I promise.
If you’ll remember my goals for 2013, I listed being healthy as one of my priorities. I’m very proud to say that I have cut out sugar, grains, and dairy from my diet (and meat temporarily) and my friend Abby and I have embarked on a 30 day challenge. We are doing this ab routine for 30 days. We are each others accountability partner and motivator. It’s nice knowing someone else is struggling right along with me. We are a week in and I’m proud to say we’ve only taken off one day to rest. I don’t want to overdue it and coming off of about two months of doing absolutely nothing to doing something intense every day is pretty tough. I also have been incorporating some yoga into my life again. I love yoga so much. It’s so relaxing and at the end of the day it brings me to a good, stress free place.
My new clean eating plan is also forcing me to get creative in the kitchen and try new foods. I like celery and hummus now. Hooray! I hope to be able to start sharing some healthy recipes on here.
Another thing that has occupied my mind for the past week is my blog. It’s a new year and I want my blog to move in a new direction, one that I’m pleased with. I’ve been going over notes and ideas I’ve written down for my blog, crossing out the ones that didn’t work and trying to develop things that have worked but need a bit of tweeking. I’ve also been reading tips and strategies for developing my content and making my blog better. I feel like the past year of blogging has taught me a lot. Sometimes the blogging world can seem a bit intimidating and over saturated, but I truly love it and I don’t want to give up on it. I’ve really been trying to focus my energy into what I can do to make my blog better. That being said, in the days/weeks to come, I’ll be changing my schedule around a bit. I really want to streamline this space so it feels like me, through and through.
