Dress- Modcloth; Cardigan+Tights- Target; Scarf- New York and Company; Boots- Pink & Pepper via DSW; Sunglasses- ASOS
First outfit post of the new year! I’ve been dying to get this dress on the blog. My mother-in-law sent me a Modcloth gift card for my birthday in true form, it took me about two months to decide what I wanted to spend it on. When A Beautiful Mess launched their collection for Modcloth back in October, I was smitten by several of their items. This dress was one of those items. Since I blew through my birthday money, I had to be patient and wait for the right moment to buy this dress. That moment came around the beginning of December. Modcloth was having some super fabulous sales and this dress went on sale. Since I typically only shop the sale rack, I knew it was destiny. It was my first ever Modcloth purchase and I’m so happy with it. This dress fits like a glove and it is one of my favorites!

I wore this outfit last Sunday while Nick and I were out and about enjoying our time off. We were a little stir crazy from being cooped up at home for a few days, so we decided to have a day date. We went to TJ Maxx and picked up a grey and beige chevron rug for our bedroom. We had spotted it the day before and I couldn’t get it out of my mind so we went back to claim it.

We also grabbed a little lunch while we were out, then headed to the lock and dam to snap a few pictures. The lock and dam is a park located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. It has pavilions, swing sets lots of green open grassy areas, and an amphitheater. You know, typical park stuff.

Being back at work this week has sucked. I was so not ready for my holiday to end, but that’s life I guess. Thankfully today is Friday, which means I have two full days of freedom. I have a few ideas of how I will occupy my time. The house needs cleaning, my closet and dresser need to be cleaned out, and there a few projects I need to work on.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
