Happy New Year

Last night I rang in the new year with Nick by my side. 2012 was a particularly great year for us. I try not to dwell on the past too much, but since I’m a rather reflective person I thought it would be nice to recap the great things that happened in 2012.

January: After a few months of uncertainty where my career was concerned, I started a new job as a Paralegal in the next town over. Even though it can be a little trying at times, I try to be thankful as often as possible that I have a job that pays me very well.

February through March was busy with wedding preparations, showers and pampering.

April: We got married! After months and months of hard work, money saving, and planning, we finally had our dream wedding, followed by a very relaxing and much needed honeymoon.

May-July: Most of our summer was spent trying to beat the heat and settling in to married life.

August: I celebrated my 1 year blogiversary! It was a small goal for me and one that I was very proud of.

September: In September I did a little reflecting about the direction I wanted to take my blog. It was a much needed change and I’ve been a lot happier with my content these past few months.

October: October was a pretty busy month. Nick and I bought a new to us DSLR camera. We used it when we visited the Pumpkin Patch with my family. Then we had a weekend getaway for my 26th birthday. We don’t really get to get away much because of work, so it was nice to have that time together.

November: Nick and I attended a gala at our alma mater, which was a very swanky occasion. I got a surprise happy in the mail from one of my readers, and I made my first Thanksgiving dinner for Nick and I.

December: December started with our annual gathering for Wassail Fest. The rest of the month was spent decorating, baking, planning and anticipating Christmas. I got all of my shopping done way ahead of schedule so when Christmas came, it was stress free and very enjoyable.

Nick and I were incredibly blessed in 2012 and I can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store for us. Cheers to a new year! May it be prosperous, peaceful, full of joy, laughter and love.
